The Virginia Choral Society
A Message from the Managing Director

       Welcome to the 80th concert season of the Virginia Choral Society!

This organization has grown from a few dozen volunteer singers to become the oldest continuously performing arts group on the Peninsula - and thanks to the generosity of patrons, donors, advertisers and the Arts Commissions, it has also become one of the most stable. 

We start this year with "Music of 70s, 80s and 90s" featuring music from several artists including Michael Jackson, Queen, Lee Ann Womack  and Earth, Wind and Fire.  We're sure that you enjoy yourself listening to music of this recent era.

Our annual "Family Festival of Carols" will feature some old favorites as well as a few surprises. 

We will finish the 80th season with our Spring concert, "Modern Masterpieces".  In this concert VCS will present compositions from comtemporary composers, including Lauriden, Rutter, Whitake, and others.     

This year we continue our partnership with the Boys and Girls Club and various sponsors to provide tickets to several of our concerts.  Please see our link under "community relations" for more information.

This year we have also establish a Music Scholarship Fund and application process for entering college freshmen.  Please see our link under "scholarship information" for more details
